What I'm doing Now

I'm actively trying to figure out this AI thing. Incredible opportunities; some unsettling predictions; an unknown future for humanity... it's a lot to take in. Just a year ago I thought I might be able to ride out a classical software career long enough to retire before I had to understand AI, but I don't like those odds now. I'll probably continue to sleep poorly until I've learned a lot more, and written some of it down here.

In February Janeé and I went back to Taipei 🇹🇼 after a five year hiatus. It was so shockingly like we had left it. In the best way possible, nothing had changed. It really is home.

Otherwise things are as they have been. My software design work through our consultancy PNDLM continues to go strong. Janeé and Bonchon and I continue to enjoy life in the deeply peaceful and beautiful hills of West Henderson, and we continue to take occasional weekends in Los Angeles and San Diego. The photo on this page was taken in June at The Roots concert at Hollywood Bowl. Watching Questlove play was particuarly fantastic.
