GO
In the first moments of sunrise I stepped out onto the frozen concrete deck three stories up and looked out over Las Vegas, what I had temporarily achieved. My feet started to hurt from the cold. I thought about moving but then I remembered that pain is just weakness leaving the body. After a moment, it did leave, and immediately the sun began to rise between the mountains in the east. Of course there is uncertainty and discomfort along with the beauty, all of it or nothing; that’s the game and it’s not going away. So what are my options? Do I avoid the possibility of pain, give up, and descend to "safe"? Or do I stay up here, listen to the siren’s beckon, and then GO—
